Calke Oak

Ok...this is not the Old Man of Calke (a 1,000 year old tree on the estate...which i didnt find), but the tree that was my main view for a week.

We stayed in Heath End Gate House on the Calke Estate, and it was bloody amazing. No internet, no mobile signal of any real strength....just peace and quiet and the coziest, most homely little cottage.

Seriously...every day I started and ended by going out, leaning on the fence and gazing up at this lovely ancient tree.
