Mystery

I have noticed recently, in the last month or two, that powdered condiments now come in jars with no perforated lids, so that cannot be used as shakers. Why this change, maybe because the perforated lids were made of plastic?

Anyway now I am going to have to go to a shop to find condiment shakers.
