Room With a View

Fancied camping beside the track up Carn a' Chlamain, Glen Tilt, but found this little hollow out the wind so decided to try using the tent (Terra Nova Laser) as a makeshift tarp.

I propped it up with 2 walking poles and pegged it out as best I could, having to use the ice axe for one of the corners. It wasn't ideal due to the shape of the tent i.e. it's not a flat sheet of fabric but since it was calm night it did the job just fine.

I was able to lie in my sleeping bag and gaze out at the stars. The only problem with this situation was that in the morning I had to try and thaw out my water carrier, as it had turned to a giant ice pole inside - I didn't fancy lugging 2 kilos of ice down the hill!
