The most carefully planned birthday yet... and Tom likes, nay loves, a detailed birthday plan.

Presents opened, Tom went canoeing with Grandpa and Savta down the Durance before joining us for a birthday picnic. The capsizing incidents that were described with such joviality had, as gradually become clear, been somewhat less amusing at the time.

Still, Grandpa played a blinder and gave Tom an impromptu driving lesson in the Mehari. If he can handle that...
