Show us yer legs
The plum tree in our garden has a nasty greenfly infestation, but over the last week, we've had regular visits from both Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers, gorging on the said pests. We've seen them frequently dodging about in the tree but as they aren't singing, it's not always easy to tell them apart. Taking photos and checking their legs is the best way to tell the difference - dark legs for the Chiffchaff, pale legs for Willow Warbler. This one's a Chiffchaff. If in doubt, we call it a Chiff Warbler.
