Rook

After packing up we walked down to the school to retrieve the car and a stray instrument, then headed north. We stopped at Taunton Deane services for a coffee and enjoyed observing the rooks who live in the nearby rookery and evidently own the place (Road Chef may not realise this).

We managed to coincide at The Shed in Clevedon with I and K (who had gone back to Bristol last night). Jon recorded a couple of songs very efficiently, and then we left for Bristol. Only time for a brief rest before we had to go down to Park Street to set up at the Folk House. Managed to forage for a pizza before the evening proper started - then numerous old friends and former colleagues turned up. Lots of OU representation! And my old friend Li, who I used to share a house with in Oxford but whom we hadn't seen for ages. Turns out she's moving to Guildford shortly and back into academia to become a professor!

It was again exceedingly hot and sweaty - lots of tuning issues as the strings on the instruments reacted at different rates. We were entirely knackered by the time we got back to Clifton and could finally lie down!
