Sailing away . . .

A day of glorious weather and a dire forecast so off he went in his boat!  Ollie and I had a good long walk then I spent most of the day in the garden.

Something has eaten the tops of all the peas and sweet peas in the back garden.  I'm tempted to think it's the blasted sparrows from the v shaped edges of the cut leaves, but it might be caterpillars although there is no sign of them on any of the plants.  Sparrows are on the decline elsewhere but we, in Orkney and Shetland, seem to have more than our fair share of them!

Mike stayed on board Peridot overnight, rewiring the cabin lights and sewing hooks on the sail covers. In true Swallows and Amazons style he had cocoa for supper!  A happy man!
