a matter of scale
took the girls on a grand adventure today. we went to London on the train, took in the National History Museum, the Tate modern and Covent Garden! got home just before midnight... a proper day out.
I'd never been to the nat hist museum before. it was an experience. the girls enjoyed the dinosaurs and the blue whale the best, as well as the nature drawings; they had a go themselves.
it was really apparent though that not enough money is being spent on this national treasure... even my house isn't this dusty! a lot of the exhibits are showing real signs of age and neglect (and blobs of chewing gum... why do people do that?!)
had a meal out at the Spaghetti House near Covent Garden.. my poor underprivileged children were ever so excited about 'eating in a proper restaurant'!
we found the Moomin shop in Covent Garden!! very exciting (and over priced). i bought a Moomin cookie cutter! apparently it's the only Moomin shop outside of Finland, we were informed by our Finnish shop assistant!
all in all, a lovely adventure!
