Nectarine Sponge

I've taken to making fruit sponges out of whatever fruit we have in the house. Today's option was the nectarines which had been in the fridge for the best part of a month, so waste not want not.... and jolly nice it was too! I had been concerned because I used plain flour rather than self raising, but it seems to have risen pretty well anyway.
Wonder what next weeks option will be?
