Over designed

I bought a new card reader today to replace the one that died. It has everything you'd expect - USB 3.0, a plethora of slots (although I only need it for CF) - but it also comes with a completely pointless metal tripod to which it attaches by means of rather weak magnet. Quite why this feature was included is beyond me, especially as I almost never use a card reader anywhere near a surface flat enough for the tripod to stand on. Oh yes, it's also supplied with possibly the heaviest and longest USB cable that I've ever seen for a small peripheral - I've omitted this from the shot for aesthetic reasons :-)
