Peace

Woke to torrential rain!  Stopped S going for her planned bike ride but by 11 it was all clear again and we headed to Pisa for a last look round and some gelati
Back home and a lazy afternoon by the pool with a big tomato, bread, olives and cheese late lunch then took some photos of a tiny number of the curiosities around the house (extra)
Off for our adventure dinner-few kilometres up the mountain behind the house (last 700 metres in the chef's 4x4 jeep!) then stunning views across to the sea and even French coast. Unbelievable sunset as we drank 'fresh wine' then the food began...mostly grown in his garden or made nearby.....several different cured meats with different levels of spicing/flavouring, salami, the best pecorino ever tasted, warm herby breads, courgette tortilla, bread and tomato soup, tortellini with spinach, roast herbed pork and heaven sent sautéed potatoes then pine nut and raisin gelati with caramel sauce, coffee and all with more red wine than even Arclight and Alfthomas could drink!
Piled into his jeep for the hair raising drive back down.
What a way to end the holiday!!
