These shells and large stones were collected from the beach by my grandchildren when they were visiting in April. One day I will return them to the beach, but for the moment the memories are special.
 
This morning at 11am NZ time the opening ceremony of the summer Olympic Games was broadcast live.
 
Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s very close view of part of the miniature iris flower. I smiled when I read the comment from CBLinks2 - “to my eyes it looks like a toorie on a purple tartan bonnet” Looking at it again I was inclined to agree.
