Purple loosestrife
I've been trying all week to capture these flower spikes of purple loosestrife, currently all over the nature reserves and growing along the waterways through Winchester.. Around here you see them in tall straggles of balsams, meadowsweet, hemp agrimony and various white umbellifers, mostly hogweeds, water parsnip and hemlock. To be honest, it's a rough and pretty competitive environment, but at the moment they seem to be more than holding their own. Hopefully it's that tangle of vegetation I've caught here.
So here is my entry for FlowerFriday, hosted as always by BikerBear, even though they have nothing to do with this week's theme of 'paper'. Apologies and thanks, BikerBear.
Okay, that's me for today. Happy Friday night and have a great weekend xx
