Summer Bug

I've no idea what it is? I don't think it's fully grown yet, so it's hard to identify it from the images in my insect guide. I spotted it on my walk this afternoon. 

I left work a little earlier than usual and headed over to Trentham Gardens. I had to dodge a couple of showers, but it was generally warm and sunny. 

We seem to have a couple of terns on the lake at the moment. They're quite noisy little birds. It's obviously just a bird service station for them on their momentous migration. hey're real fun to watch flying up and down and diving for fish.
