Slow-worm

Very glad it's Friday - been a tiring week in one way or another!

A slightly-earlier-than-usual finish at work meant that there was time to do some essential shopping in Wooler after our afternoon dog walk on the Common. Good to have time to potter around the town for a while.

MrM spotted this slow-worm by the side of the path on the Common. It stayed still long enough for a few shots, then slithered off in to the undergrowth - and it was anything but slow! Remarkably fast, in fact!
