Hollyhock in early light
This hollyhock was just blooming when the tremendous 36 hour rainstorm happened two days ago, She's looking a bit frayed around the edges but still blooming and another one is coming along, too.
At the same time I snapped the first and only green bean (Kentucky Wonder) and a few Scarlet Runner bean flowers making their way up the poles. The hummingbirds have discovered them. Oh, joy!
Yet this rose coloured hollyhock gets the featured spot today. Extra credit for survival.
Our growing season got off to such a late start that the bean production is fully a month off this year. I probably will get zero winter squash. Too bad!
