Old, New and Resurrected!!
We moved to Lincolnshire one year ago today. The time has gone so quickly and we have managed to do an unbelievable amount of work to get settled into our new home.
The old items in the picture are the Crocosmia on the left which came from our old garden. The climbing rose in the middle is Crepuscule, which is new, a replacement for the one we left behind.
I was introduced to this rose by Ginger Nan, a Blipper from New Zealand and presented with a posy of her Crepuscule roses at a blip meet in Christchurch a couple of years ago. I planted this as bare rooted last autumn and it has a few buds, which should open soon. A reminder of a super NZ holiday and all the people we met.
The resurrected plant is one that was dug up when we cleared out the old shrubs. I think it is a Rudbeckia. There was a clump flowering last October, so I retrieved it from the bin and potted up some new growth off the sides. I thought that it might earn it’s keep!!
B is coaching athletics this evening, so we are eating out tomorrow evening to celebrate.
