Day 2: Mad for Mickey

Backblip
The magic of Disney was obviously lost on these 3 who sat looking at their phones for a considerable amount of time while we sat nearby eating overpriced Jedi Burgers.

I can see the attraction of Disneyland; it is amazing. The thought and detail and hugeness of it all. We are staying in hotel Cheyenne and the whole area we are in is done up like a Wild West town. We are in 'Running Bear' block and a short walk from the main park.
We got into the park early and headed for the rides Poppy wanted to go on. I gave all the fast ones a miss but was persuaded onto the gentler rides like 'Peter Pan' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. We walked 12 miles from one land to another over 2 parks (Disney Studios is more like an old fashioned Hollywood studio and we went to a great show demonstrating stunts and special effects.).
We ate at The Rainforest Cafe (my choice) I loved the intermittent thunderstorms and moving animals.
We had to hang around until 11 for the firework and laser show. People start gathering outside the palace really early for a good spot. We sat down on the kerb at about 10pm and I couldn't stay awake. I actually fell asleep on the side of the road with my head on my rucksack. So classy.
Woke up for the show just as the heavens opened. Without a coat or brolly between us we stood for as long as we could bear it. Soaked through the to the skin, we gave up and missed the end of the show and headed back to our Wild West room for a much needed sleep.
