Caught in the Rye
Today was the day to cut the rye. Of course the thunderstorm had to arrive half way through, so there was some frantic unfurling of tarpaulin which I had fortunately prepared earlier. Always best to be prepared for disasters. We managed to cut most of the field. About 4-500Kg remains to be cut, a bit less than half a hectare. Ecological rye yields much less than conventional. Here we are emptying the combine after the cloudburst.
