Wide Angle Wednesday: Earth, Wind & Fire!!
Many thanks again to Bobsblips who has challenged us to go for the theme of Earth, Wind or Fire for Widwed this week.
I thought of starting a (long overdue) fire of garden rubbish in our incinerator, but there was actually too much wind for this to be safe!
Then I photographed the trees in the garden swaying in the wind - but on a wide-angle shot you could hardly perceive their movement.
Then...You may recall from last Wednesday's blip that we have bathroom fitters in at the moment renovating our bathroom. Rightly or wrongly we decided that most of our suite (apart from the bath, which has been replaced) was still very serviceable so we asked them just to remove it, re-tile the walls and then refit it. (They subsequently cursed us - remarkably pleasantly, they're very nice lads - as apparently it was quite a fight to separate the various bits without breaking anything.) So this evening it was my job to clean the old suite, prior to its refitting tomorrow. (A lovely task, happily remarkably successful.)
So this is a wide-angle shot of the loo (after its clean-up I hasten to add - I wouldn't have wanted you to see it before). "What's it got to do with earth, wind or fire?" you may ask. Well it fits all three of these. "How?!" Well it's made of earthenware, it's certainly seen plenty of wind, and after a potent curry it's probably been exposed to a fair bit of fire as well!! ;-)))
(Actually I guess that we can bring fire in twice, as the loo would have been fired in a kiln during its manufacture.)
I do hope you haven't found this blip embarrassing - I don't want to leave you feeling flushed. (Groan).
