Kicking back

A's demonstrating the activity of choice today...whilst T, K and S went to explore the coast the rest of us just stayed around the house and pool. Several games of chess between the young ones, I read quite a lot of our new book group book(really enjoying it, thanks Arclight), painted A's toenails and played with AR.
Late afternoon we nipped into San Giuliano Terme and had a gelato and looked round the spa - decided against booking in. Home via a trip into the hills behind the house to find a little restaurant for Friday...very scary hairpin bends and very narrow road.
Last minute decision to accompany S to a recital in Lucca as part of the Puccini festival...(extra) ...greatest hits of various operas and, much to S's relief, one she recognised at the end (O Solo Mio). Home to another lovely pasta dinner on the terrace and planning tomorrow....
