A bit wet
I think the robin had just had a bath rather than a soaking from the rain that came down quite heavily later in the afternoon. He sat on my chair preening all his feathers and looked lot better a few minutes later. The lily behind him was one that a bought from B&Q for £3 last year, it's been full of blooms this year.
It's been a strange day starting with a nice sunrise with low cloud the other side of the Firth. This turned into thick haar when Fortrose disappeared completely. Luckily being on a hill I was sitting in bright, warm sunshine. The haar kept coming and going and you could see it drifting along the top of the field. It started raining at 3pm and continued for most of the afternoon with a few rumbles of thunder. It's not cold though and I did go outside and sit in the rain because a willow warbler had knocked himself out by flying into the window. He was recovering on the decking but getting soaked so I moved one of the chairs over him and placed a plastic bag on the seat to provide some shelter. I had to stay outside though as the gulls are pretty quick at coming down and picking up any bird that's been silly enjoy to fly at the window. It eventually flew off as if nothing had hppened.
