I had never visited Eaglesham Moor in the days before Whitelees Windfarm existed and, having seen the video presentation at the visitor centre, I can't help thinking that they should have left it in its natural state (despite their rather spurious claims that the windfarm has had a beneficial effect on the local wildlife).

However, I have to grudgingly concede that the 140 turbines that occupy this 55 sqkm site are rather awe-inspiring and perhaps even beautiful in their own way.

It has to be said though that I remain to be convinced about their effectiveness.
