There goes the fear again

I think the Picos de Europa are Spain's entry in the most outrageously spectacular scenery in the world competition. We did part of a classic walk from Cain up the Cares river gorge, but first we had to negotiate the drive to the start along a narrow twisting very minor road through rocks and mountains piled high on either side, luckily not meeting too many vehicles coming the opposite way.
The walk was along a very high very rough narrow path with unguarded sides next to a lethal precipice and with lots of other people, it being August.
Loosecanon has nightmares about this type of thing so he did well to feel the fear and do it anyway.It was just stunning, riven with gloriously colourful butterflies and wild flowers and the Picos rearing up Jenga style all around.
It was hot and thirst inducing, our feet were a bit sore at the end so we dunked them into the River Cares on the way back, we quickly dried off in the sun and now we're back chilling with a beer or two.
LooseCanon spotted these little trees catching the sun , but was too busy watching his feet and forgot to take the photo, extra shows walkers on the unguarded path.
Pretty wild scenery so it's going into Wildwed, vaguely suggested but not hosted by Cailleach.
