Lydford Gorge

We have taken up a travelzoo offer for two nights in Lifton.  We left early this morning this morning so as to make the most of the weather (heard Monday was going to be bad). Looking for somewhere to have breakfast and saw a  sign for Lydford Gorge.  We  are NT members so seemed ideal. The cafe wasn't open when we arrived so waited a couple of mins had our coffee etc and then set off on the trail to the White Lady Waterfall.  A fairly strenuous walk at times but OK.  Waterfall was good and we had another cup of coffee and then headed back (this was a circular trail).  All going well and nice and mostly flat and then we hit the rocks OMG you had to hang on to a rail and poor KG was worried that I would slip (the knees are not great).  I was so busy watching where my feet where going I didn't see the scenery.  When we reached the other end it was another cup of tea and off to find the hotel.  We had a lovely spacious and comfortable room.  The weird thing about it was that it didn't have a lounge as such just a small pub area.  A 4 course tasting menu was included which was excellent.  We didn't watch the race today but found out the result and we were more than happy.
