Stars and Moon
The fiery glow of twin suns reflects in silhouette off the terminus of the moon. This morning, the sun peeked through a hole in our monsoon clouds and illuminated this beautiful bit of rustiness. These are cutouts from small versions of the circular sawtooth hangers and a hole cut from a piece of thicker steel plate. The small crescent cutout in the hole/moon is where the plasma cutter first blasts through the metal in an area that's going to be thrown away, anyway. Then, it curves into the start of the cut, so it won't leave a notch in the good part.. This is called the "lead-in" to the cut, and there is a "lead-out" a the end, too.
