A Romp Of Otters

Another damp day so we took a trip to the nearby Tamar Otter Centre,where this particular young cub seemed a bit miffed at having his picture taken.

Romp is an apt collective noun for otters, judging by the way all the otters here spent their time chasing each other and playing both on land and water.

Sophie's animal vocabulary has come on in leaps and bounds over the last two days: apart from otters, we saw deer, peafowl, meerkats, wallabies (she had a bit of trouble getting her tongue round that one) and all manner of birds of prey.

We've worn her (and us!) out again, although we still had energy for pool and air hockey tournaments in the games room back at the cottage.
