Street Life
We got up early to make the most of the day before heading home, so had breakfast at a cafe opposite the port, wandered round the Sunday morning market, and then walked to the Calanque de Figuerolles (see my extra). We sat on the rocks for a while just enjoying the view, but it was so hot, we decided to go back to the hotel for a swim. On we'd checked out, we went for lunch and had a last stroll around the old town.
I love the little narrow streets that are shabby, but have a certain 'je ne sais quoi', and I spotted these two neighbours sat outside their houses in the street having a chat.
We pre-booked a taxi for 5.45pm allowing plenty of time for the journey into Marseille which was a good thing as there was an accident on the motorway and the traffic was at a standstill. We were near a junction, but one for traffic coming onto the motorway, but cars started reversing down it to get off and our taxi driver decided to do the same. We eventually arrived at the airport at 7pm for our 9pm flight, only to find out that the plane was delayed by an hour and a half!
By the time we eventually got home it was 12.30am, so we left the unpacking and went straight to bed!
