An ordinary life....

A day to remember...

Archive Blip

The day my best friend Agnes married David's best friend Adrian.

What a happy day.  So many happy memories.

Getting hair and makeup done and the hairdresser blowdrying my hair with massive flicks!

Eye makeup to match the colour of our dresses.  Turquoise!

David being late to the church and having to rush in just before Agnes!

The ceremony being filmed by the BBC as part of a documentary on why young people still choose to get married.

Agnes' sister and I singing the wrong tune to All Things Bright and Beautiful and not really noticing till the chorus as we were belting it out as instructed and could only hear ourselves.

Agnes grinning like mad as she said her vows.

Adrian looking a bit bewildered by the whole thing.

Sitting next to the Minister at the reception at our village club and him being the most difficult person to talk to.  Yes/no answers to everything and no sense of humour.  So I did what any sensible person would do and drank my wine very quickly, that way at least I found my jokes funny :-))

Lots of laugher and lots of dancing.

THE best Karaoke (meaning THE worst singers) during the Wedding Band's half hour break, including our friends David (not my David), George and Gwen giving us all 35 verses of the Streets of London and not knowing how to end it so just continuing to launch into the chorus over and over and over and over again until someone thankfully broke into rowdy applause and the rest of us followed suit.

Friend Bren plunging her knife and fork into her dinner and the plate flipping over and her entire meal, including lots of gravy, landing in her lap.

Dancing with David at least five times to Hue and Cry's Labour of Love, which we kept requesting.

Agnes and I hugging tightly just before her and Adrian headed off, both of us in tears, I'm not sure why...happiness, disbelief that my childhood friend was now a married woman (she was 19!) too tipsy?

Sitting at the end of the night, surrounded by friends and family full of joy and happiness before we all staggered the short walk home, arms linked,  singing you'll Never Walk Alone.

Oh yes, a day to remember :D
