...you've just got to go for it...
I got up early (ish) to go and walk the dog at Leannach (Duke's Pass) and I had intended on doing the normal loop (fairly level) but when I got to the hill path for Ben Venue I decided to see how far I could get. I could have kept going up (even although it was a struggle - so unfit!!!) because the uphill doesn't affect my knee but I had to be sensible because the downhill kills it... I'm now sitting with my leg up on the back of the couch with a bag of frozen peas... However, I did get further before the pain kicked in...
I gave some foreigners a mouthful on the way back down the hill. There were about 8 of them and they had a dog. I didn't see their dog at first but I saw Aonghus stop dead ahead of me. Then all of a sudden this dog just launched itself at Aonghus and there was nothing I could do. What a vicious little thing! It grabbed Aonghus several times and the owner wasn't doing much to catch the dog until I shouted "Get your dog under control!!!" Only one of them apologised. The rest just scowled at me as if it was my fault. I told them their dog should be on a lead if it behaves like that! And I was shaking like a leaf! If the dog had been anywhere near me I would not have hesitated to kick at it. There's nothing worse than a dog attacking your dog!
