unto the hills

High up in the hills behind our house is a monument known locally as "The Communion Stones" which commemorates an occasion in July 1678 when  several thousand Covenanters met and took communion during the so-called "killing times". 
Every so often, local churches hold conventicles here. Today the worship included the christening of the 5 year old daughter of a local farmer. Here you can see her older brother proudly holding the "font". His sister wasn't so sure about being the centre of attention!
