Red Admiral

We're nearly into August.  There were some lovely sunny spells today - and the buddleias of all colours are nicely in flower.

I was pleased to see three Red Admirals at the Wolseley Centre (headquarters of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust) - along with a solitary Peacock, a Gatekeeper and a few lively Large Whites.

It's quiet at the centre. The Kingfisher has nested further along the Trent and only flies past when it suits him. The swans have taken their five cygnets further along the river (but we've gained two more adult swans). And the nest of swallows in the Cloisters continue to make a loud background noise as we serve people in the shop.
