another attempt of a moon shoot with a digital

I know how to take a night photo with a film camera and a tripod but just can't seem to get the digital to do what I want. Learned the other day how independently set a F-stop and shutter speed but can't get the digital camera to not refocus or to always snap when I push the shutter button
