Marsh Mill - Thornton-Cleveleys

Went on a shopping trip to Fleetwood today and stopped off on the way home to take a quick photograph of the Thornton windmill. A straight forward rather boring angle, but I wanted a full picture as a record shot. Someone approached me and pointed out that I could get a more interesting shot if I stood part way down the alleyway. I smiled and took the shot they wanted me to take, but I have blipped my own. :-) The shot they suggested would have looked much better in more spectacular lighting.

This Tower Windmill was constructed in 1794. It still has working machinery and there are guided tours.  Entrance is free if you just want to have a look around. 

There are a lot of windmills in our area and I can think of at least five within a 10 mile radius of my home.
