Moving day
The day has finally arrived. After weeks and weeks of paperwork, delays, building inspections, and more delays. We finally have moved in. We actually got the keys yesterday but expecting yet another delay, we booked the movers for today. So last night we finished boxing up all our possessions and disassembled our furniture. The bed being the larger and most awkward thing to move, I took it apart for transport and last night we slept on just the mattress. And I didn't notice a difference. I did seriously really consider not really assembling the bed, but Mrs Graham didn't seem keen.
So at 8am a van turned up and 3 lads filled it with everything we own. By 10am everything was in the new house and all the cleaning and unpacking fun began! A lot of help was very gratefully received from my sister and mother in law, and my dad who helped really assemble the bed and provided very valuable wiring advice.
It's been a very long day and several weeks ago Mrs Graham and I made a pact that we would not order a Chinese takeaway until we were in the new house. At the time we thought we'd be in a lot sooner.
So tonight, to celebrate our first night in our new home we dined like kings! Like Chinese kings!
At time of writing this I've just tidied up after dinner and Mrs G is cleaning the shower
That's how we celebrate in The House Of G.
As soon as she's done, the bubbly will be drunk, the house will be run around in to celebrate how much space we now have, and then maybe we'll watch Batman!
Good times!
Details of house warming to follow.
