WHR Day 5.

Cabane Prafleuri to Arolla.
2 of the group who missed yesterday took the bus round the mountains and then made the easy hike up to the Cabane to join us last night so they are now back on the trek. Whilst this is great for them it means I've two people who I haven't really seen deal with a long hard day - so the best way of managing that is an early start to give us every opportunity to succeed.

This is another spectacular day, and my preferred option is to take the group over the ladders of the Pas de Chèvres, it's technically more difficult but a much better and more rewarding ( see extras) route. The ladders are relatively short ( less than 30m combined) but the consequences of a fall, tumbling 100's of metres down the scree to the glacier means I rope the clients, which adds to a sense of adventure. Nervous though some of them are the look on their faces when they step off the last platform and see the distant, yet iconic, point of the Matterhorn and the bulk of the  Dent Blanche, well that makes it all worthwhile.

*** Thank you for all the appreciation for yesterday's Magical Moments. As you can imagine Internet access is a bit limited on this trek, but will catch up with you all soon
