The Circus is in Town!

Last night we went to see Giffords Circus with Stiffknees and her husband and a group of their friends to celebrate his Birthday. I had never seen this troupe before and what a great show they put on.
It was a wild west theme, the band was great, the clown was suitably corny, funny and clever, the horses were beautiful (they only have horses, a couple of dogs and a chicken!) and the acts were very impressive.
A group of girls made cloths spin on their hands and feet (a version of spinning plates) and got into the most amazing poses. I must confess I got home, lay on my back and tried to see if I could get my hands and feet to move the way they had and I failed miserably.
We had two girls performing acrobatics on a hoop at the top of the tent with NO SAFETY NET. I held my breath for most of the act.
Six fit and flexible young men ran up poles, hung off poles, slid down them, jumped off them and did everything you can imagine with a very tall pole. Then there was singing, dancing, lassoo skills, juggling and feats of acrobatic flexibility on the ground. All in all, a wonderful evening.
