These are the remains of what had become a massive fuchsia bush in the garden. We planted it as a tiny cutting to fill a gap,and it just grew and grew. It has been a helpful shelter for other trees and bushes, but now that they are established it's been removed...replaced by a horse chestnut I grew from a conker collected in Krakow, which I hope will survive.

I finished reading 'The one in a million boy' by Monica Wood for library book group tomorrow. A touching, humorous book...I was almost in tears by the end.
