Anemone
What a day - I got up early as usual. Read in the conservatory for a while and suddenly this american voice kept saying low battery. After giving it some thought we decided it was the burglar alarm battery. KG went to play table tennis and I researched batteries for burglar alarm. When KG came back we had lunch and then we were off ot buy some turf and paving stones. When we got back we took the old battery out of the burglar alarm but it still ke[t chirping and telling us low battery. We couldn't understand this as surely with not battery it would have shut up and how were we going to sleep with that row going on. KG tries muffling it but that made no difference and while he was up there decided to tidy of the top of the unit and what did he find ....
A CO2 and smoke detector alarm which was chirping for all it was worth. We knew we had one but had forgotton all about and as luck would have it was just below the burglar alarm box. Anyhow we have put new batteries in the detector and ordered a new battery for the alarm (apparently they are only supposed to last 5 years and this one had been in at least 10). So there was nothing wrong with the burglar alarm and we disturbed all the neighbours for nothing when the alarm went off when we took the battery out - will have to do it again tomorrow when we put the new battery in.
So a very hurried blip this evening and this anemone closed up as I went to get my camera.
A bit of an iffy day didn't really make up its mind
