U-Bahn München: 75/100 Partnachplatz

Munich underground: 75/100 Partnachplatz

Now that I can go on with my strictly alphabetical Munich underground series, this is the second entry for this week after Ostbahnhof underground station. Partnachplatz underground station is located in the south-western borough of Untersendling, and is served by the blue U6 line to Klinikum Großhadern in the south and Garching-Forschungszentrum in the north. The station was opened in 1983, together with its two western neighbours Westpark and Holzapfelkreuth. Those three stations were also the first shot at utilising a more colourful design.

The station is named after the square above the station, which in turn is named after the Partnach, a mountain river near Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
