Ode to Toad ??

Down in the garden
In the water and through the reed
Something sat and looked at me
As it wallowed in pond weed.

With black beady eyes
And brown shiny body
The question running through my mind
Is it 'Toady' or it is 'Froggy'?

He didn't even quickly blink
Or move a single muscle
T'was only as the dogs approached
That he jumped to avoid a tussle.
