Southport pier

Those of you who know Southport will know the sea never even comes near the pier and you can park on the beach. I've only ever seen the tide right in once and that was in December. However today the beach was closed to cars because of an usually high tide. I was looking forward to seeing it but when we got there it was low tide so it was still a mile or so away. You could see it had been right in by the very wet sand though.
