Black Ground Beetle – Pterostichus melanarius

Not a good photograph but he scuttled across my kitchen floor while I was breakfasting and I managed to catch him and put him in a jar. Not really a welcome visitor to my house  -  he's now far away at the bottom of the garden where I'm sure he'll feel more at home anyway!  This LINK is where I got mu info from.  Nice sunny day here for a change.
