East African Grey Crowned Crane
We went to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in south central Pennsylvania today and went on a safari tour that allowed us to get very close to many animals including deer, bison, Ostrich, Watusi, and others. The owners took an old school bus, cut the entire top off, and use that for the tours so that the customers are up high and can safely see everything. Quite a bumpy ride but it was loads of fun.
At the end of the tour, we walked through another area to see the petting zoo, a bird enclosure and some other critters. This East African Grey Crowned Crane was probably the most beautiful creature we saw. This one was standing inside an old shed and was able to get a shot just as he leaned into the doorway. See todays extra photos for a shot of three baby Ostrich walking side-by-side.
Off to the Poconos on Thursday. No specific plans yet but look forward to some cooler water and a little relaxation.
