Gently down the stream

Resisting temptation

There were a mass of butterflies in the fields tonight.  Very tempting.  At one point I must have seen about 40 together, whites of various sorts, all dancing above an area of set-aside land where the wildflowers and grasses grow.  However, instead, for WildWed, I wanted to record this special moment of summer when the lilac scabious are all out and the darker purple knapweeds are just joining them - two incredibly important sources of nectar, so much so that the bumble bees were bombing the butterflies feasting on 'their' patch.

Apart from that today was taken up with boring stuff, plus (not boring) visiting my lovely old man.

Hope your day's been good.  Enjoy the evening  xx
