Goldfinch

There were two of them calling to each other from really high up in the birch tree and it took me ages to spot this one.  My arms were aching by the time I'd taken a few shots!

The day started off dry and bright, but quickly deteriorated into the usual rain and grey skies that have been the signatures of summer here this year.  Really cold too, so much so that the heating has gone on again.  

I think I'm developing SAD Syndrome - in July!!
