Cosmos

I went with a friend to an interesting talk on the history of canals in Topsham.  It was surprising how many canals had been planned in the area, including one that would take boats from the English Channel across land to the Bristol Channel, so avoiding the treacherous waters around Cornwall.  After the talk we had lunch in the museum gardens where I took this close up photo of a Cosmos flower.  You can see the 'tiny' pollen grains in the process of being released from the stamens.
