I am pleased to report that I managed to negotiate the car to and from home without incident. I was only honked at once - by a bus, so I'm not too distressed about that.

Opening a bank account, our starting point for so many other things we need (like private car, mobile phone for K etc) is not proving as easy as we thought. But we're getting there so hopefully it should be resolved soon.
