Day 207 of 366 - The City Wall!

Today's image was taken in the City Centre of Coventry. The view is of part of the remains of the Old City Wall. This little section of the remains of the wall is situated under an overpass section of the city's ring road. The city wall dates back to about the 14th Century. It was originally about 2.2 miles round the main part of the City, along with 12 Gatehouses. The city wall was mostly dismantled in the 17th century on the orders of King Charles II as punishment for Coventry backing the Parliamentarians during the English Civil War. All that remains now are a few sections of wall and two Gatehouses. The remains of city wall are classed as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

The photo was taken using the app ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.

First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I straightened the image and applied the Tonal Contrast filter. I also decreased the Highlights and boosted the Vibrance, Contrast, Warmth and Saturation. I then added a Vignette and the number 8 vintage filter. Next I used Mextures to add the Darker Days formula by Ryan Olde. After this I used DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Vanilla texture. Finally I used the app PhotoToaster to add the Backlit preset, the Green Process FX, a medium dark Vignette. I then added the Stucco texture and the Charcoal frame.
