Bologna- market street.

This road is part of the Quadrelattero ( the main foodie area- lots of little market stalls selling fruit and veg, shops selling salami, mortadella and of course Parmesan cheese). We are lucky to be staying in the next road, so plenty of opportunities to try out the local produce.

We went out of breakfast- cappuccino and a pastry to a little place on our street- a great atmosphere and very patient staff as we dithered about which pastry we would have ( and trying to ask for it in Italian...even though they answered us in English.....)

We were out later on in a big thunderstorm, dropped into a cafe to escape the rain. When we got out, bright sunshine and dry streets.

There is an open air cinema in Piazza Maggiore showing The Godfather tonight- we might have a look....we went the other night to see 81/2 ( a black and white film- in Italian with English subtitles).
